Covid-19: India sees biggest ever spike as 5,000 cases registered in one day, total count reach 96,169
India has recorded the biggest single-day jump of 5,242 new coronavirus cases, with the total count of cases reaching 96,169. The death toll due to the pandemic in country reached 3,029. Of the total cases in the country, Maharashtra accounts for the highest number of cases, followed by Gujarat, Tamil Nadu and Delhi. 36,824 people have recovered. As per the health ministry, the country's recovery rate stands at 38.29 per cent.
