Created for voluntary donations: Centre speaks in defence of PM Cares Fund before SC

After a lot of controversy around the PM Cares fund, centre has decided to defend the fund created to collect donations. Centre filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court saying it was a mechanism envisaged to attract voluntary donations, unlike other disaster management funds. The affidavit was filed in response to a PIL filed by activist and noted lawyer Prashant Bhushan’s NGO Centre for Public Interest Litigation.
