Death rate has fallen despite growth in number of coronavirus cases: Empowered Group chairman

VK Paul, the Chairman of Empowered Group 1 said the growth rate of number of COVID19 deaths too has fallen significantly due to lockdown, marking a notable difference between pre-lockdown and post-lockdown situations. Paul said the growth rate of coronavirus cases has witnessed a steady fall from April 3, 2020 when lockdown was able to put a brake on the speed of growth. He said the number could've been higher without the lockdown.
