Delhi Police Commissioner gets authority to detain under National Security Act

Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Delhi, Anil Baijal has granted the power of detaining authority to the Delhi Police Commissioner under the National Security Act (NSA). NSA allows preventive detention of an individual for months if the authorities feel that the individual is a threat to the national security, and law and order. A notification regarding the special act was issued on January 10 after the approval of the LG.
