Doctor to receive Rs. 50000 from Matrimonial agency for failing to find a groom

Surinder Pal Singh Chahal of Mohali had filed a case against a matrimonial agency, Wedding Wishes in the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum. Surinder alleged that the agency took Rs.50,000 from him and promised to find a match for his daughter after he posted an ad looking for a groom. Failing to do so, the agency has been asked to pay Rs. 50,000 with 9% interest and Rs. 12,000 as compensation, by the forum.
