Education Ministry may bar Indian universities from signing pacts with countries sharing land borders

Amid the tensions with China, the education ministry is mulling to make it compulsory for Indian universities to take the government's permission before signing any pact with institutes of countries that share land borders with India. The education ministry has taken the decision after consultation with the foreign ministry. This comes 2 months after the review of China-funded Confucius Centres attached to universities in India.
