Elderly German woman leaves $7.5 million for neighbours

An elderly woman in central Germany gave her neighbours one of the best possible shocks as she left behind property and a stock portfolio worth $7.5 million. The woman identified as Renate Wedel had lived in Hesse with her husband, Alfred Wedel, since 1975. While her husband died in 2014, Renate breathed her last in December 2019 at the age of 81. The fortune was inherited by neighbours as Wedel's heir, her sister, is also dead.
