Extreme heatwave kills over 1 billion sea creatures

In an interview with CBC, Chris Harley, a marine scientist at the University of British Columbia, stated this (highlighted by Gizmodo). Chris said he was "stunned" when strolling along Kitsilano Beach in Vancouver when he saw thousands of mussels broken open with flesh inside, suggesting that they had just died. This was caused by the extreme heat in Vancouver, as well as the tides' poor timing; Billions more were 'Cooked' underwater.
