First detainee transferred out of Guantanamo in the US

The Biden administration returned to Morocco the custody of a Moroccan citizen who had been imprisoned without trial since the US established the Guantanamo Bay facility 19 years ago. Abdul Latif Nasir had thought he would never be freed. This was the first evidence of President Biden's renewed effort to reduce the prison population by transferring inmates to nations with strict security procedures.
