Hundreds of locals in Dehradun gathered outside the Dehradun Airport on Sunday to oppose the government's proposal of cutting more than 10,000 trees for the expansion of the Dehradun airport. The protest came after the state government sought the National Wildlife Board's approval for the transfer of 243 acres of forest land to the Airport Authority of India. The citizens were seen holding placards that read 'Save Thano'.
