The World Health Organisation has said Guinea has become the first West African country to confirm a case of Marburg disease. Marburg disease is a lethal virus that is related to Ebola. The disease passed from animal hosts to humans just like Covid-19. "The potential for the Marburg virus to spread far and wide means we need to stop it in its tracks," said Dr. Matshidiso Moeti, WHO Regional Director for Africa.
