Srinivasa Gowda, a Kambala jockey from Moodabidri in Karnataka, who became an overnight sensation after covering 142.5 meters in just 13.62 seconds, was compared with legend sprinter Usain Bolt by many. When asked about the same, Gowda said: "He is a world champion, I am only running in a slushy paddy field." Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju said Gowda will reach at the SAI centre on Monday and will be trained by top coaches.
