ICMR fails to begin test of Covaxin as first deadline passes without any progress

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) was about to begin first round of testing of Covaxin from July 7 and had identified 12 clinical trial sites of medical institutions and hospitals for conducting the Phase I & II human clinical trials. However, most of the hospitals failed to enroll patients for trial. Many centres including the AIIMS are waiting for a clearance from the ethics committee to begin enrollment.
