Dr Randeep Guleria, Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences said that there has been localised community spread in certain pockets. He said, "We are somewhere between stage 2 and stage 3. Most parts of the country are in Stage 2 while some hotspots have seen localised community transmission." 21 fresh deaths were reported from Maharashtra, two each from Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu and one from Punjab.
