India's Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat reiterated the need for integrated theatre commands for India while speaking at the India Economic Conclave 2021. “We need an Integrated Defence System. We need integrated theatre commands – land-based commands for eastern and western borders. India must have an Integrated Air Defence command as we need one agency for airspace management… Integrate yet ensure autonomy,” he said.
