India proposes ban on e-cigarettes along with new jail terms for offenders

The Indian health ministry has proposed a ban on the production and import of electronic cigarettes. As per the Ministry, "E-cigarettes encourages the use of tobacco, which has an adverse impact on public health. These are harmful both actively as well as in a passive form." These are gateway products towards nicotine addiction. This will a strike a powerful blow to U.S.-based Juul Labs Inc who is planning to venture in India.
