Indian pharma companies may get affected as China hikes prices of key drug ingredients

When the drug companies around the world are struggling to find a vaccine against the novel coronavirus, China has raised prices of key starting materials used for manufacturing drugs by up to 20%. This move is going to put a lot of pressure on Indian pharma companies as the country imports key starting materials from China. However, the prices of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) remain unchanged.
