Just within 24 hours of reaching an agreement for mutual disengagement by the Indian and Chinese troops, both sides started to move out their tanks and troops from the forward positions. But what surprised the Indian army leadership and security planners was China moving out over 200 tanks and troops from the forward positions by Thursday. An official compared the speed of withdrawal to the capacity of rapid deployment.
