India's COVID-19 cases cross 44-lakh mark with record 95,735 new cases in 24 hours

With 95,735 fresh cases of coronavirus infections being reported in a day, India's COVID-19 tally went past 44 lakh. While 34,71,783 people recuperated from the disease so far pushing the national recovery rate to 77.74 per cent, according to the Union Health Ministry. The death toll rose to 75,062 with 1,172 people succumbing to the disease in a span of 24 hours, the data showed.
