India's drug regulator grants permission to Gilead Sciences for using remdesivir in treating Covid-19 patients

Amid the rising number of coronavirus cases in India, the country's drug regulator has granted permission to US pharma giant Gilead Sciences for using remdesivir in treating coronavirus patients. But it is to be noted that the anti-viral drug has been allowed for restricted emergency use for treatment of suspected or laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in adults and children hospitalised with severe symptoms.
