India's population to cross 152 crore in next 16 years

India's population could increase by 10% in the next 16 years from the current mark of about 138 crore, a technical group on population projections constituted by the Ministry of Health in 2014 has predicted. The report says, the population of India is expected to increase from 121.1 crore to 152.2 crore during the period 2011-2036, an increase of 25.7% in 25 years at the rate of 1.0 per cent annually.
