In a major action, the French government has initiated an investigation into allegations over four multinational fashion groups profiting from the forced labour of the Uyghur minority in China. The allegations are being probed by magistrates at the national anti-terror prosecutor's office in Paris. The investigation is related to a complaint lodged in April by the anti-corruption group Sherpa and other Uyghur groups.
