A 1,500-year-old Byzantine-era wine complex was unearthed by Israeli archaeologists on Monday. The industrial-scale wine complex produced nearly two million litres of the drink annually and was the world's "largest" wine complex at that time. The wine complex has been unearthed in Yavne, south of Tel Aviv. Yavne was a major Jewish settlement after the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD. The complex has five wine presses.
