IT Department lost many records after restructuring in 2001 & 2013

An RTI application filed for pension fund records in NTPC has led to the discovery that many records are missing from the Income Tax Department after a department official could not furnish the records. The RTI appellant was informed that many records were not returned to the IT department after restructuring during 2001 and 2013. Information Commissioner Bimal Julka said digitisation of records has been initiated.
