Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind moves SC seeking end to spread of 'fake news' related to Tablighi Jamaat event

Prominent Muslim organization Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind moved the Supreme Court alleging that a section of the media is spreading communal hatred over last month's Tablighi Jamaat congregation. The body sought directions to the Centre to stop dissemination of "fake news" and take strict action against those responsible for it. The petitioners said the Tablighi Jamaat incident was being used to "demonise" the entire Muslim community.
