There are a total of 24 traffic offenses compounded under the amended MV act. For the compoundable offenses, one can pay on the spot. In the case of the other traffic offenses that are non-compoundable under the MV Act, the violator needs to visit court to pay challan. The list of non-compoundable offenses includes drunk driving, jumping traffic lights, juvenile driving, lane jumping, driving against the flow of the traffic, etc.
