Legal aid expenditure per capita only Rs 0.75, need to 'incentivise lawyers'

While talking at 'improving quality of legal representation' report launch, Delhi High Court judges Justice S Muralidhar emphasised on the need for equal pay for legal aids and public defenders as legal aid lawyers are human rights defenders. The current per capita spending on legal aid is only Rs. 0.75. He also mentioned that state legal services authorities do not utilise funds allocated to them.
