Major Ponung Doming created history by becoming the 1st woman army officer to become Lt. Colonel in the Indian Army from Arunachal Pradesh. National security advisor Ajit Doval took to Twitter to announce it and commented -'Now this is a real empowered & daring woman!' Doming made Arunachal Pradesh proud becoming the 1st Army Major from the state. She has been a part of the UN peacekeeping mission.
