Make in India: Govt cancelled Rs 32000 crore Minesweeper project
Central Government has cancelled a Rs. 32000 project that was supposed to construct 12 advanced minesweepers in collaboration with South Korea. In last 3-4 years, no major “Make in India” project for defence had been kicked off and the navy needs modern MCMV (Mine Counter Measure Vessels) to deal with various threats. Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has said it is time for some quick decision to start off the project.
