Man had to spend 8 months in UP jail as middle name was missing from bail order

The Allahabad High Court pulled up the superintendent of Siddharth Nagar district jail for keeping a man behind the bars for eight months just because his middle name - Kumar - was missing from the bail order. The applicant - Vinod Baruaar - was granted bail by the high court on April 9, 2020. The man was not given bail despite the order as the name in the remand sheet was ‘Vinod Kumar Baruaar’ and not ‘Vinod Baruaar’.
