The total count of people affected by the novel coronavirus worldwide has surpassed the 27 million mark. According to Johns Hopkins University, more than 8,82,000 people have died due to the pandemic worldwide. As per the statistics released by the University's Center for Systems Science and Engineering, the net count of coronavirus cases stood at 27,002,224. At 6,275,614, United States has the highest number of cases.
