New set of glands in throat discovered by scientists, may prove important in cancer treatment

In an important discovery, a set of salivary glands in the throat have been discovered by scientists in the Netherlands. The new organ was discovered accidentally when the researchers at the Netherlands Cancer Institute were using a combination of CT scans and positron emission tomography scans called PSMA PET-CT to study prostate cancer. According to oncologist Wouter Vogel, the discovery may be important for cancer treatment.
