Nobel Peace Prize winner John Hume who is known for ending violence in his native Northern Ireland passed away at the age of 83. Hume was born on January 18, 1937, in Northern Ireland’s second city — Londonderry. The Catholic leader of the moderate Social Democratic and Labour Party was suffering from prolonged illness. He took his final breath on Monday morning. Hume was an advocate of non-violence.
