Ei-ichi Negishi, noted Japanese chemist who won the Nobel prize, passed away at 85. Negishi was awarded the Nobel prize for developing a method for creating complex chemicals necessary for manufacturing drugs and electronics. He died on Sunday in Indianapolis. The news of his death was confirmed by Purdue University in a statement released on Friday. He will be laid to rest in Japan sometime next year.
