Over 2 million people killed, $3 trillion lost due to climate change in 50 years: UN agency

The World Meteorological Organization said in 'Atlas', a review of the mortality and economic losses from weather, water and climate disasters, that more than 2 million people died and over $3.64 trillion were lost in the last 50 years due to climate change and weather disasters. 11,000 disasters occurring between 1979-2019 were surveyed by the agency. The disasters surveyed by the agency included Ethiopia's 1983 drought.
