Preserve cultural heritage of Afghanistan: UNESCO after Taliban takeover

As the Taliban edges closer to forming a government in Afghanistan, UNESCO has called for the preservation of the Islamic nation's cultural heritage in its diversity. "We are calling for the preservation of Afganisthan cultural heritage in its diversity, in full respect of international law, and for taking all necessary precautions to spare and protect cultural heritage from damage and looting," Director-General Audrey Azoulay said.
