Rare military vessel found in "Egypt's Atlantis"

On Monday, July 19, divers uncovered the unusual remnants of a military vessel in the ancient submerged city of Thônis-Heracleion. The military vessel, found by an Egyptian-French team led by the European Institute for Underwater Archaeology (IEASM), sunk in the 2nd century Bc when the renowned temple of Amun it was moored to, crumbled. According to Egypt's tourism and antiquities ministry, the ship was built in the classical style.
