An investigation reveals that Ring doorbells have been giving user data to companies like Facebook and Google. 5 companies received a range of information including names, IP addresses and mobile networks. Those 5 firms identified were Facebook, Branch, AppsFlyer, MixPanel and Google-owned Crashalytics. Ring said it limited the amount of data it shared. The EFF said Ring failed to protect users' privacy.
