The Copernicus Sentinel-3 satellite of the European Union has revealed satellite photos showing a mega-drought and snow shortage in the Andes mountain region. Global warming has been connected to this year's unusually low snowfall during a decade-long drought, according to scientists. Communities that rely on the mountains for water supplies are expected to face shortages as precipitation decreases and glaciers melt across the area.
