According to a study conducted by the researchers who studied 12,700 mutations of the novel coronavirus, none of the mutations seemed to be leading to an increased spread of the disease. "Fortunately, we found that none of these mutations are making COVID-19 spread more rapidly," co-lead researcher Lucy van Dorp said. Dorp, however, added that the mutations must be closely monitored by the scientists.
