Scientists state Earth's interior has more carbon than usual

Scientists from Cambridge University and NTU Singapore have discovered that slow-motion tectonic plate collisions occur in the Earth's core on a far greater scale than previously assumed. This means that the Earth's interior is consuming more carbon than previously assumed. They discovered that just one-third of the carbon recycled under volcanic zones returns to the Earth's surface via recycling.
