Seven influential US lawmakers including Indian-American Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal wrote to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, urging him to raise the issue of farmers’ protest in India with the Indian government. Meanwhile, India has asserted that the ongoing protest was entirely an internal matter and remarks by foreign leaders and politicians on the protests are “ill-informed” and “unwarranted”.
