Spain declares climate emergency

Spain’s new government has declared a national climate emergency. It’s a formal first step towards taking ambitious measures in a climate change fight. The declaration, approved by the Cabinet, states the Socialist government will send its proposed climate legislation to the parliament within 100 days. The proposed targets include those of European Union such as reduction of net carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
