India lost 17,000 lives in 50 years to heatwaves: Study

From 1971 to 2019, the country saw 706 heatwaves, according to the publication. M Rajeevan, Secretary of the Ministry of Earth Science, and other experts collaborated on the study article. Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Odisha had the highest number of heat-related deaths, according to the report. An increase in anxiety, palpitations, uneasiness, and behavioural changes has been related to severe temperature increases.
