A Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde issued notices to the Union ministries of Home Affairs, Law and Justice and the Women and Child Development, seeking their response to a PIL seeking uniform grounds of divorce, maintenance across the religions. The plea filed in the top court highlighted the centre's failure in providing even gender-neutral, religion-neutral uniform grounds of maintenance and alimony for all.
