Taliban designated as terrorist group by Facebook

In a major action, social media giant Facebook has designated the Taliban as a terrorist group. The content of the Taliban has been banned by the social media platform. However, the Taliban continues to use Facebook's end-to-end encrypted messaging service WhatsApp for communication. A Facebook spokesperson said Whatsapp will also take action on accounts having links with the insurgent group in Afghanistan.
