Teachers in UP demand 'Period leave' due to poor toilet conditions

A union of women teachers in Uttar Pradesh has asked that they be granted three days of period vacation each month, citing a lack of menstrual hygiene at their job. Menstruating women endure discomfort and bleeding, which both have an impact on their emotional and physical health, according to the female professors. For the past 30 years, the Bihar government has stated it has been giving this vacation to female employees.
