Temperature soared to record 18.3 degrees Celcius in Antarctica, UN concerned over global warming

The concerns of United Nations officials and climate experts grew manifold after record heat engulfed Antarctica last year with the temperature soaring up to 18.3 degrees Celcius. The UN's World Meteorological Organization said the record heat was reached at Argentina's Esperanza research station on the Antarctic Peninsula on February 6, 2020. WMO secretary-general Petteri Taalas said the Antarctic Peninsula is warming very fast.
