Thoothukudi created history, registered marriage between Man and Transwoman

In a first, Tamil Nadu's Thoothukudi has witnessed the registration of a marriage between a man and a transwoman. 22-years old B Arun Kumar married 20-years old transwoman P Srija in last October at a temple, but the district registrar office declined to register their marriage. They then filed a writ petition in the Madras High court, and finally, the District registrar office issued their marriage certificate on May 20.
