UNHCR calls on Afghanistan's neighbours to keep borders open for refugees

As the situation in Afghanistan worsens amid the continuous violation of human rights by the Taliban, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has called on the neighbours of the Islamic nation to accept refugees. “At this stage, our primary concern is that Afghans who are seeking safety can reach it, including across borders and into neighbouring countries if needed," regional spokesperson Catherine Stubberfield said.
